Where can I buy tickets?
You can purchase tickets for our Historic Cape May Tours online. Online reservations stop at 4pm for evening tours.
All other reservations are made the same day in-person at our booth during regular business hours, weather permitting.
Can I pay with a credit card?
In person at our booth, we can accept cash only.
Where do we board the carriage?
All tours depart from our booth at the corner of Ocean and Washington Streets. Please navigate to 315 Ocean Street with your GPS. We are located in the center of town across from Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, near the Acme parking lot.
When should I arrive for my tour?
We ask that you arrive and check-in with us 10 minutes before your scheduled tour. If you arrive late, the time will be deducted from your tour in order for us to maintain our schedule.
If you don't show up for your ride at the time you reserved, there are no refunds and no complimentary rebookings.
What should I bring with me?
Please bring ID, your camera, and wear clothes appropriate for the weather.
If you book online, please print out and present your confirmation receipt when you check in for your ride.
Do you have parking?
There is no parking at our location. Please allow extra time to find parking as it is limited in the summer.
Will I be riding with strangers?
No. All of our tours are private, so the carriage you reserve is used exclusively for your group.
Can I bring food and drinks on a carriage tour?
Clear beverages are permitted, but they must have lids and be in a plastic or metal container. For safety reasons, no glass is allowed.
We do not allow food or ice cream to be brought onto the carriages.
Are your tours pet-friendly?
Yes, but pets must be well behaved. Whether a pet is welcome is at the company's discretion. There is no additional fee for pets.
How many people can fit on a carriage?
Our vis-a-vis carriages hold 4 adults and two small (lap size) children. If the number of people in your party exceeds your reservation, you will be charged the appropriate additional fee for each additional passenger.
When booking online, let us know the number of people in your group and the ages of the children so we can accommodate you. If your party cannot fit in the carriage because we didn't have the correct information at booking, your party may not be able to board the carriage. There are no refunds.
How do I change the date of my tour?
Please make sure you have the correct date and time before reserving a tour. Please don't book unless you're 100% sure you can commit and that all information is correct. If you can't commit to a ride in advance, please visit our booth at Washington and Ocean to book a tour the same day.
What if I need to cancel my tour? Can I get a refund?
Tours must be cancelled 48 hours in advance.
No refunds will be issued except in the case of inclement weather, which is determined at our discretion. No exceptions. Please check your ticket before leaving for correct time and carriage.
What happens in the event of bad weather?
If we shut down due to inclement weather or circumstances beyond our control, you will be refunded 100% of your tour. Whether we shut down is at the discretion of Cape May Carriage Company. Our vis-a-vis carriages and wagonnete have canopies and may operate in light rain. You may decide you don't like the current weather, but if we are still operating, there are no refunds if you choose not to take your reserved tour.
